Frequently Asked Questions

Is Larpy a real bank?

No. Larpy is a prop app for live-action role-play, films, theater, and content creation. It renders a convincing but entirely fake mobile-banking interface. It does not connect to real bank accounts, process real transactions, or provide any banking service. Every balance and transaction in the app is fictional.

Why don't my balances match my real bank?

Because nothing in Larpy is real. Larpy never connects to your bank — it has no ability to — so the balances you see are the fictional numbers you (or the app's defaults) made up. If you need your real balance, check your real banking app.

Are the stock and crypto prices real?

Yes — that's the one real thing in the app. Larpy fetches live, publicly available prices from CoinGecko, Finnhub, and Yahoo Finance to make the prop look convincing. However, any "portfolio" or "holdings" shown are fictional and do not represent actual investments.

Is my data safe?

Yes. Everything you enter is stored locally on your device and is never sent to us — we have no servers, no analytics, and no account system. The app's only network activity is fetching public market prices from CoinGecko, Finnhub, and Yahoo Finance; those requests contain no personal data. Deleting the app permanently removes all of your data. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Can I use Larpy to convince someone I'm rich?

Only if they're in on the joke. Larpy is for fiction, performance, and pranks among consenting participants. Using it to actually deceive someone — a lender, a landlord, a date, a business partner — into believing fictional money is real violates our Terms of Service and may be illegal.

How do I change my balance?

Open the sidebar (hamburger menu), go to Settings, and tap on the account you'd like to edit (Checking or Platinum Card). You can set any fictional balance up to $15,000 on the free plan.

How do I change the currency?

Go to Settings and tap "Currency Symbol." You can choose from several options including $, €, £, ¥, and more.

Can I reset the app?

Yes. Go to Settings and tap "Replay Onboarding." This will reset the app to its initial state, allowing you to set up a new profile with fresh fictional balances.

What is Larpy Pro?

Larpy Pro is an optional upgrade that unlocks unlimited fictional account balances (above the $15,000 free plan cap), the crypto portfolio prop, and additional customization features. It's purchased through Apple's App Store.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Larpy Pro subscriptions are managed through the App Store. Open Settings on your iPhone → tap your name → Subscriptions → Larpy → Cancel Subscription.

I found a bug. How do I report it?

Please send an email to support@larpy.app with a description of the issue and, if possible, a screenshot. We'll investigate and fix it as soon as possible.
