Larpy is a fictional prop app for live-action role-play, film, theater, and content creation. It renders a convincing but entirely fake banking interface. It does not connect to any real bank, real account, or real financial service, and it never handles real money or real financial data.
1. Overview
Larpy ("we," "our," or "the app") is a prop app for iOS, built for live-action role-play, films, theater productions, and content creation. It displays a realistic-looking mobile-banking interface in which every balance, account, and transaction is fictional.
Because nothing in Larpy is real, there is very little data to talk about — and none of it is financial. This Privacy Policy explains exactly what stays on your device, and the one narrow category of network requests the app makes.
2. Information We Do Not Collect
We want to be clear about what we do not do:
- We do not collect any personal information (name, email, phone number)
- We do not collect banking credentials — the app has no ability to connect to a real bank, so there is nothing to collect
- We do not collect real financial data, account details, or transaction history — the figures shown in the app are fictional props you invent
- We do not require account registration or login — there is no account system at all
- We do not use analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, advertising identifiers, or third-party trackers
- We do not operate any backend or server — there is nowhere for us to send your data
3. Data Storage
Everything you enter into Larpy — display names, fictional balances, fictional transactions, and preferences — is stored exclusively on your device using iOS's built-in local storage (UserDefaults). This data:
- Is never transmitted to us or to anyone else — there is no cloud sync, no server, and no backup service on our side
- Is never included in the app's network requests (see the next section for the only network activity the app performs)
- Is deleted when you uninstall the app
4. Network Requests & Third-Party Market-Data APIs
Larpy is not fully offline. To make its investment screens look realistic, the app fetches live, publicly available market prices from three third-party APIs:
- CoinGecko api.coingecko.com
Public cryptocurrency prices. Requests contain only public coin identifiers (e.g. "bitcoin"). - Finnhub finnhub.io
Public real-time stock quotes. Requests contain only public ticker symbols (e.g. "AAPL"). - Yahoo Finance query1.finance.yahoo.com
Public historical price-chart data. Requests contain only public ticker symbols.
These requests contain no personal data — no names, no identifiers we assign, and nothing you have entered into the app. However, as with any internet connection, your device's IP address is necessarily visible to these providers when the requests are made, and each provider handles such connections under its own privacy policy. If you use the app without an internet connection, no requests are made and cached or placeholder prices are shown instead.
5. Biometric Data (Face ID / Passcode)
Larpy offers an optional Face ID or passcode lock. This feature:
- Uses Apple's LocalAuthentication framework
- Is processed entirely by iOS on your device — the app only receives a yes/no result
- Means Larpy never accesses, stores, or transmits your biometric data
- Can be enabled or disabled at any time in Settings
6. In-App Purchases
Larpy offers an optional Pro upgrade purchased through Apple's App Store (StoreKit). All payment processing is handled by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. We never see your payment details, billing address, or Apple ID credentials.
7. Notifications
If you enable notifications, Larpy uses Apple's local notification system to schedule alerts on your device. These notifications are:
- Scheduled and delivered entirely on-device by iOS
- Not sent through any external push notification service
- Fully customizable and can be disabled at any time
8. Children's Privacy
Larpy does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The app does not require any personal information to function.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
